Manchester United hosted Southampton in an early kick off Premier league game at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
United were looking to banish memories of their midweek draw against Burnley but faced a stern test from a Southampton side that have taken points off the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham in recent weeks.
The game began with the home side missing a clear cut opportunity to take the lead in the game as Cristiano Ronaldo goal bound effort was cleared by Romain Perraud.
United didn't relent though and the home side's effort will be rewarded when Jadon Sancho finished off a quick counter after fine work by Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes down the left with the first half of the game ending in that manner.
Southampton improved after the break and the away side got an equaliser almost immediately as Che Adams cleverly converted from the left hand side.
Both sides went in search of the all important winning goal in the game but it was not meant to be as the match eventually ended in a 1-1 draw.
