When Bruno Lage's Wolverhampton Wanderers visit the Emirates Stadium on Thursday, Arsenal will be looking for their second win in less than a month.

Despite having played one game fewer, the Gunners won 1-0 at Molineux on February 10 and are now one slot and two points ahead of their opponents.

On a day when some Gooners were unhappy by as many as four penalty calls being waved away by Jonathan Moss and Lee Mason in the VAR room, Arsenal relied on their Hale End potential to transform a commanding effort against Brentford into all three points.

Brentford's well-taken goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka put an end to a difficult first 45 minutes, and while Christian Norgaard added an injury-time consolation, it was too late to duplicate their opening-day success over Arsenal.

The less said about Arsenal's January form, the better, but they've started February with two wins from two in the Premier League and may be considered the frontrunners in the top-four chase - now sixth but only four points behind Manchester United.

Only Liverpool can boast a better defensive record than Arsenal - the absence of European football currently appears to be benefiting the Gunners as they strive to end their five-year absence from the Champions League.

The race for European football is far from finished, but Wolves can be encouraged by their seventh-place finish in the table, and fifth place could be theirs if they win at the Emirates.

Tottenham are still on their tails, but Lage's side head to the Emirates having won each of their past four Premier League away games, as well as a measure of vengeance for events earlier this month.
