Club football will return this weekend following a two week absence observed by most top leagues in Europe for the winter break.
A lot happened during that 2-week break most notably the close of the summer transfer window where a lot of deals were conducted.
For Manchester United, no player was brought in while a total of eight players left on loan. They also lost another key player in Mason Greenwood to police arrest on suspicion of sexual assault on his girlfriend.
United will return to action on Friday night against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup fourth round. The game is the first of 7 matches they will play in February.
The seven games will spread across the three competitions United are still in this season; the Premier League, The Champions League and the FA Cup.
After hosting Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on Friday 4th February, United will travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley in a rearranged fixture that was postponed in December due to Covid-19 issues at Old Trafford.
After facing Burnley at Turf Moor, the Reds are going to welcome Southampton to Old Trafford. The first leg of this fixture finished 1:1, the player who equaised for Man United that day is unlikely to play for the club again. Mason Greenwood.
United will then play another rearranged fixture vs Brighton at Old Trafford on 15th February before facing Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday 20th February.
Their biggest game of the month follows shortly after that as they travel to Spain to face Atlético Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 first leg.
Manchester United's month conclude with the visit of Watford to Old Trafford. The Hornets defeated United 4:1 in the first leg, a result which turned out to be the final nail on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's coffin as he got sacked a day after the defeat.
