Over the past month, Gerard Pique and Ronald Araujo have been filling in the spots at centre-back for Barcelona with Eric Garcia and Samuel Umtiti out injured.
Xavi does not place his trust in Oscar Mingueza as a CB, while Clement Lenglet has been getting a handful of minutes.
Barça’s problems are about to worsen, though, as Lenglet has picked up a hamstring injury. The official statement from the club read: “Tests conducted on Clement Lenglet this monring has revealed an injury to the femoral biceps in his left hamstring, meaning he is unavailable until the injury clears.”

AS have reported that Lenglet will be out for five weeks, at the very least. His recovery will determine his return.

With the Europa League playoff spot vs Napoli in their foresight, this creates a massive problem for Xavi, who will be left with just three centre-backs in the senior team, none of whom are left-footed.

Barcelona could always rely on Barcelona B’s Mike Marmol, however, who has been touted to be the next great defender from La Masia. Huge pressure on Xavi’s shoulder.
