The knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League is picking momentum as the first legs of the round of 16 has now been completed. The 8 matches which involved 16 teams will be more interesting and competitive in the second leg.
Going by the results of the first leg encounters, the only team who we can comfortably say has qualified for the quarter-final is Manchester City. The Citizens have a 5-0 lead away from home against Sporting CP.

They have already beaten an Italian in Italy side this season - Atalanta - and will be looking at repeating such feat.
